This course will provide a technical foundation for using Git.
This course will provide a technical foundation for using Git. It will introduce key Git concepts and provide the student with a Git installation along with the basic skills and knowledge required to use Git with Alfresco training courses.
This course is not intended as a replacement for Git training.
What Will I Learn?
At the end of this course you will be able to:
- Describe basic Git concepts and terminology
- Describe the Git repositories used by Alfresco
- Install Git on your local machine
This course is targeted at the following roles:

Applicability: This course is applicable from Git v2.0 to v2.25. It was written using v2.21 and was last modified on March 9, 2020.
This course presumes that the student is competent in the following activities:
- Software Installation
- Using the Command Line Interface (Terminal or PowerShell)
The student will require access to the following resource in order to complete this course:
- Workstation, Laptop, or Virtual Machine with installation capability
