Overview

This course will provide you with a series of Docker Compose based Sandbox environments which can be used in conjunction with other Alfresco University courses such as tutorials and projects.

The environments may also be used for your own experimentation as a more convenient alternative to deploying a development environment.

  • Validate your Docker Installation
  • Validate your Quay.io Credentials
  • Download the Alfresco University Sandbox Environments
  • Launch the Sandbox Environments
    • Alfresco Content Services
    • Alfresco Governance Services
    • Alfresco Process Services
    • Alfresco Digital Business Platform
  • Shutdown and refresh your Sandbox Environment
  • Troubleshoot your Sandbox Environment

  • Administrator
  • Developer

Time Required: ~30 minutes

Prerequisite Knowledge

Familiarity with Docker and Docker Compose is required to launch the Sandbox environments. Full documentation and training for each can be found on the Docker Website.

Prerequisite Courses

The following course will introduce you to the basics of Docker and Docker Compose including the commands required to launch the Sandbox environments.

Prerequisite Resources

Hardware & Software

A working installation of Docker Desktop will be required to launch the environments.

Warning

We would recommend that the machine used to launch the Sandbox environments has at least 16GB of memory available. This will provide sufficient memory for your operating system as well as Docker Desktop which will be used to launch the environments.

Alfresco License

You will require an Alfresco license for each product that you would like to launch a Sandbox environment for. Specifically the following:

  • Alfresco Content Services 6.2
  • Alfresco Process Services

Licenses can be downloaded from the Alfresco Support Portal as part of your Alfresco subscription. All Alfresco licenses include unrestricted use for development, training, and testing purposes.

Quay.io Credentials

Finally, you will need access to the Alfresco Quay.io Docker Registry. This is also available through the Alfresco Support Portal as part of your subscription.
