Content Model Types

Content Model Types

This lesson provides the foundation for developing a custom content type in a custom content model in Alfresco Content Services or the ACS repository.

About this lesson

This lesson is built for Business Analysts, Systems Administrators, and Developers who need the foundation to analyze, create, and a custom content type in the ACS Repository. In this lesson we discuss the reasons why a custom content type might be required, the elements that make-up the type, and we demonstration how to construct a type in a new custom content model. Additionally, we modify any other XML files needed for deployment into the ACS Repository and then, we actually deploy the type and change existing content to this new custom type. This lesson takes into consideration and is focused on the latest containerized deployment of ACS referred to as Docker.

At the end of this lesson the student will be able to:

  • Analyze content for the necessary properties required for a custom content type.
  • Identify the major elements required to write the type in XML.
  • Modify any required files to deploy the custom content model that contains the new type.
  • Deploy the model and then, reclassify content using the new type.
