Lab Environment (Virtual Machine)
[DEPRECATED] - Content Model Manager
This course builds upon Alfresco content models by introducing students to the new Graphical User Interface for content models introduced in Alfresco version 5.1. With this new interface the creation, editing and deployment of custom content models has been greatly simplified.
This course has been deprecated and will shortly be replaced by a series of newer courses that are based upon a Docker Compose lab environment.
You will still be able to register for and take this course until 30th June 2019 when your access to the lab environment will be removed.
A list of replacement courses will be provided here when available.
You can find further details about the changes that are being made in the FAQs.
Description: This course will introduce you to Alfresco One 5.1 Content Model Manager User Interface (UI). This UI enables not only Software Developers to quickly build and define a Content Model, but also is intuitive enough for a Business Analyst to create one as well. This is a feature-rich UI that enables the creator to create a model, define custom Content Types, Aspects, Properties, and Constraints. Features such as Exporting, and Importing of Model Manager Content Models are available, and a virtual “flip-of-the-switch” option to Activate or Deactivate a model is new to Alfresco Content Modeling as well.
Alfresco University’s Model Manager module will step you through some of the basics of designing a Content Model, applying your designed model to a new Content Model in the UI and creating Custom Types, Aspects, defining Properties for those Types and Aspects, and applying Constraints. There are a multitude of demonstrations with Student Labs that are geared toward familiarity of each subject and their various options. A simulated pre-designed model is available so that all you have to do is sit back watch, apply values in the UI during the Labs and enjoy the Model Manager learning experience!Audience:
- Familiarization with various business content types.
- Preliminary design of your companies content model.
Important: You will have access to the course content for a full year from the date you enrolled. However, if you have a Virtual Machine assigned to the course, the VM will only be available for a total of 30 days from your enrollment. Ensure you complete all lab exercises within this window.
