This course continues with the concepts learned from the Concepts of Records Management Course (RM101) by applying the lessons learned through Alfresco's Records Management.

About this course

Description: Using an Alfresco 5.1 virtual machine with Records Management 2.4 installed students will practice Records Management using the UI.

Audience: Intermediate to Advanced Records Managers or Business Analysts

Prerequisites: RM101 Principles of Records Management or Advanced Knowledge of Records Management

Important: You will have access to the course content for a full year from the date you enrolled. However, if you have a Virtual Machine assigned to the course, the VM will only be available for a total of 90 days from your enrollment. Ensure you complete all lab exercises within this 90 day window.

Course Outline:

Using an Alfresco 5.1 virtual machine with Records Management 2.4 installed students will practice Records Management using the UI.

This course consists of three sections, each section consists of a series of lab exercises, in the first section,  Implementation of the File Plan , students will learn the following: 

  • Create a Records Management Site
  • Add a Record Category
  • Add a Record Folder
  • Create a Disposition Schedule
  • Upload a File Plan

The second section, Configuring the RM Site , the following topics will be covered:

  • Records Management and Custom Metadata
  • Email mappings
  • List of Values
  • Defining Roles
  • Users and Groups
  • Setting up Permissions
  • Adding Records
  • Editing Record Metadata
  • Completing a Record 

In the third and final section,  Administering Records Management Post-Deployment , you will learn the following topics:

  • Open the Records Management Admin Tools
  • Auditing
  • Relationships
  • Creating and analyzing Users Rights Reports
