Alfresco University provides a number of Docker Compose based training environments which can be used to develop skills and knowledge in conjunction with training courses based on the Alfresco Application Development Framework.

About this course

Overview

Alfresco University provides a number of Docker Compose based training environments which can be used to develop skills and knowledge in conjunction with training courses based on the Alfresco Application Development Framework.

This environment contains an instance of Alfresco Process Services 1.9 and Alfresco Content Services 6.1. This will provide you with an appropriate environment in which you can develop content and process applications using ADF.

These environments can be launched on a student's own laptop or infrastructure and can be used for as long as required.

The learning objectives that are covered by this course are:

  • Launching the Lab Environment on Windows
  • Launching the Lab Environment on MacOS
  • Validating the Lab Environment
  • Accessing the Lab Environment
  • Troubleshooting the Lab Environment

Target Audience

This environment is suitable for use by the following roles:

  • Developer

Time Required: ~30 minutes

Applicable Product Versions: N/A - N/A

Difficulty: Foundation

Prerequisite Knowledge

Familiarity with Docker and Docker Compose is required to the use the Alfresco Content Services environments.

Prerequisite Resources

The following components are required to launch the environment:

Either:

  • Docker Community Edition (macOS and Windows 10) with 10GB of RAM allocated
  • Docker Toolbox (Windows 7 and 8) with 10GB of RAM allocated

A valid Alfresco Content Services and Alfresco Process Services license are also required; these can be downloaded from the Alfresco Support Portal as part of your Alfresco subscription.

Quay.io credentials from Alfresco Support to deploy Alfresco Content Services Enterprise.
