Course Summary
This course covers Alfresco Records Management from the perspective of Records Managers and Systems Administrators. This will enable you to manage your organization’s records through their complete lifecycle as well as understanding how to setup file plans and security. You will gain an understanding of the best practices applicable to the use of the Alfresco Records Management module.

At the end of this course you will:
- Understand the concepts behind records management
- Be able to create a file plan
- Know how to map business retention requirements into disposal schedules
- Be able to setup a security regime to meet your security policy
- Know how to setup vital records and references
- Understand auditing and be able to control records throughout their lifecycle including; creation, use, retention, transfer and final disposition
Prerequisites
Setup Requirements
In order to run the virtual machine your laptop needs to have some spare capacity. The machine requirements are:
Windows
- Standard x86-compatible or x86-64-compatible processor with a minimum of two cores. 733MHz or faster CPU minimum.
- Minimum 2GB of RAM (4GB RAM recommended).
- 1.7GB free disk space for VMware Player installation and at least 8GB for the Alfresco virtual machine
Macintosh
- Minimum 2GB of RAM (4GB RAM recommended)
- 700MB free disk space for VMware Fusion and at least 8GB for the Alfresco virtual machine
- Mac OS X 10.5.8 or later; Mac OS X 10.6 or later
